There are 2 forms of the herpes simplex virus (HSV)—HSV-1 is the
virus that generally causes cold sores, and HSV-2 is the virus that
commonly causes genital herpes. While most genital herpes is caused by
HSV-2, it can be caused by HSV-1.
According to the Centers for
Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), genital herpes is one of the most
common sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) in the U.S., with an
estimated 45 million people ages 12+ being infected. Or to put it more
simply, 1 in 5 Americans has genital herpes.
How it spreads:
Herpes
can be spread by close contact with someone who is suffering an
outbreak, even if there are no visible lesions. HSV-1 can be spread to
the genitals via oral sex. There is recent concern that eyebrow waxing,
due to unsterile conditions, can spread the virus from one person's
mouth to another person's eyes.
Triggers:
A
primary trigger for herpes outbreaks is stress. Stressors in the form
of daily, recurring annoyances, irritations and frustrations that
create long-lasting negative feelings promote the virus coming "alive".
Fatigue, such as a chronic feeling of not being able to rest,
is also another important factor that can lead to a herpes outbreak.
Weather
conditions can also influence herpes. Too much sun, wind or cold
weather often bring on more outbreaks, particularly of oral herpes.
HOW HYPNOSIS HELPS
Reduce stress.
Learning to manage your stress is a key component to becoming free from
herpes outbreaks. Hypnosis is an excellent tool to train yourself how
to let go of your daily stress in a quick and easy manner.
Balance emotions.
Although you are not the only one who has the virus, having herpes can
give you feelings of shame and isolation. Hypnotherapy helps you deal
with these emotions and build up your self confidence and natural lust
for life.
Suppression of outbreaks. I will teach
you how to recognize the warning signs of a potential outbreak and
then, how to stop it in its tracks! Hypnosis is the drug-free and safe
conduit to boost your immune system into keeping herpes at bay.
Pain control.
Herpes lesions can be painful, especially those located in very
sensitive areas. Hypnosis is clinically proven to eliminate or reduce
the awareness of pain and you will learn how to harness that control
for not only herpes pain, but any other that might occur.
